So I suppose this is a meta-complaint. I thought about how to post something anonymously but the risk is obviously always higher than not posting anything at all. So it would be foolish to attempt that.

But, I can meta-complain. I can meta-complain and people will at least know there is something killing me inside.

Thanks for listening to this useless off-my-chest post and indulging me slightly.

You joined 14 days ago. There’s no real risk to your account. If you posted something and people attacked you for it, you could just create a new account with another name.

If you want to make this your forever Lemmy account, then make a new account and post the thing.

Yeah, some people might judge you for it (especially if it’s like, a really bad thing), but if you want to put it out there, that’s a thing you can do.

If you’re SUPER paranoid, use a free VPN (like, say, Proton is pretty good, it’s freemium, free but you can pay, and the ones who do pay subsidise the ones who don’t), make a dummy email, sign up with that, all through the VPN, accessing from another country, make the post, and say what you want. Or go through TOR. (“The Onion Router”.) There are ways to say things anonymously online.

I would assume being any more specific is less about the account age and linking other post activity to draw conclusions and more about the gripe details themselves being too recognisable without abstraction or generalisation to the point of a meta post.

I get it. No bullshit, I totally understand where you’re coming from.

Yeah, when there’s something like that, there’s ways to stack methods to enhance anonymity while also mitigating other methods is obfuscating connections to other accounts, but jumping through those hoops is kinda contrary to the idea of getting things off one’s chest in the first place.
