Ehh, my content is pretty divisive. It seems like 3d renders into comic form isn’t that popular, even more when going for a pseudo anime look, so I do get downvotes

There’s some user on here who likes to occasionally make 6-10 throwaway accounts at a time and go through all my stuff to downvote everything. As if karma means anything on this platform.
This must be a holdover from Reddit? Last week I was having a conversation when the user suddenly pointed out they’d accumulated upvotes where I hadn’t and therefore was correct. I was the one upvoting their comments for contributing to the discussion.
When I pointed this out, they downvoted my comments haha.
The one above in the screenshot? Probably not. I was mostly pointing out it wasn’t the expected user (beep).

There is one particular user on here tho I’m convinced is an alt specifically just for downvoting stuff (tho again, this isn’t Reddit, “karma” isn’t a thing here so it doesn’t matter). That’s almost mostly all this account does, downvotes about 30-50 posts in the span of an hour pretty regularly.
Oh no no, just the concept of caring about ‘karma’, not specifically relevant to that previous screenshot. Only reminded me of the exchange I described.
It’s not really occurred to me before that people make alts to manipulate votes here. I never saw karma as relevant even back on Reddit. I have some other accounts but mainly for when lemmy.world stops working. Seems quite narcissistic to spite vote with alts.
I agree, it’s unrealistic any user would dish out three times more downvotes than upvotes. All on posts too, none on comments? Certainly an alt, your instincts are surely correct.
Same, I’ve got alts for when world goes down, and recently made one on Piefed to see how different it was from Lemmy, but found the world one to be a bit slower. May try out .social. I’d heard Piefed is supposed to have better filtering for bot accounts, and some other features, but that may only be on the community running side.
I don’t even know if lemmy got a karma counter (I use eternity as a client).
But one thing for sure, downvotes aren’t going to make me go away. I do art because I like it. Not for clout.
(But platforms that makes it hard to post do drive me away cough Pixiv tagging system cough)
And if you moderate a community you can just click (in the default web UI, anyway) “view votes” to see whodunnit. You don’t even need an external tool. It’s good for finding downvote brigade people and so forth.

Here’s my argument, stripping away the artist’s credit make you no better than AI. Take away the human behind the art and it might as well be ai slop.
Yes there should probably be a standard way posters attribute artists. So set the example you want to see. I agree, it is a lot nicer to read comics without the soid white borders filled with names, facebook logos and other crap.
If you want to crop panels to just be the comic, fine - but please at least put the artist name in the post description (which you do for some, so thank you for those) or better yet, just include both versions. You could put the original version under a spoiler so people aren’t forcibly advertised to, but if they want to find the artist they easily can, with out having to do a reverse image search.
I enjoy many of the comics you share and appreciate your active contribution to the community, but please recgonize by refusing to compromise on this you are becoming a negative presence here and only getting your self put on people’s individual ban-lists. All we ask is that you consistently attribute the artists in some fashion.
I personally don’t want any cropping at all. Or else people will save the wrong version and accidentally repost cropped versions.

Second of all, no one is going to remove their blocks and bans, and that is better for me. Less negativity and more mature experience in terms of interactions.
