Some family stole my fave table spot (fair enough can’t buy a view even with potato cakes)…

So potat cakes were had a few metres away.

They re-did the foreshore / playground / bbq area at point lonsdale a few years ago and it’s quite nice to see the place used so frequently now.

    TW suicide

So apparently this is complicated grief. Currently receiving extra support because of the strong urge to surrender the visitor cat and end my life. And the contamination ocd is going crazy.

Seeking help, waiting on grief counseling, bag packed in case of hospital stay, considering a dose of antidepressants that would aid mood, yada yada.

    This sucks.

I think Good Friday is the worst of the christian public holidays. Everything is closed like Christmas but there’s nothing to do. And the thing all non practicing people do is not eat red meat. At least you get to give gifts to people on Christmas.

The best parts of easter are on the other days too, but Good Friday is meant to be the big one

Personally I find it a bit of a sad intitement of our society that we equate shops/services being closed with ‘nothing to do’. Are we really that unable to entertain ourselves?

I’ve always thought public holidays are a great thing because it gives us time to do things together - get together for a bbq or a picnic, play board games, have a movie night, whatever you like. Don’t just feed the consumerist machine.

I even mean with events and hanging out with family. It feels like there is more emphasis on family lunch at Christmas even if there’s nothing else to do. Whereas there’s just nothing on good friday

I like good friday for those exact reasons. It’s like the only public holiday left that’s actually a day off for the majority of workers.

I managed to get through my to-do list. It was a bit of an overloaded day, but I did a big batch of cauliflower soup (15 serves!) a batch of yoghurt, a sandwich loaf and a cheese and herb plait, chopped veggies for snacking on, prepped all meals for the next two days, mowed the front lawn, folded the washing, assembled a small cupboard and did my exercises.

Darwin award day… hot water up a ladder into downpipes.

Good thing I got an email this morning from Ambulance Vic… final notice to renew… good timing.

When I was about 7 or 8yo broke my leg at a park down here at a family thing, didn’t have coverage… and that was an expensive activity.

The local community FB group at my old place was fantastic, people giving away quality stuff like the cat autofeeder my feet give thanks for every morning. The group here has people trying to $ell partially used bottles of nail varnish 😹

Perhaps it’s an indicator of local financial stress? I used to find thrown out working or near working printers in my area, not any more.

awww yeah I’m a goddamn genius.

bilge pump + car battery + panel and controller = downspout that goes nowhere now goes into a tub and spits out into the lemon tree instead of eroding my goddamn foundations. And it didn’t cost me a penny.

although I am now looking at UV stabilised tubs for shits and hydro.

Thinking about how to get these ringworm tablets down the black cat when and if I can get them. If I can’t sneak them down in food it may not be safe to forcibly pill him.

Thinking about whether that toxic carpet foam affected him and if the carpet washer will get it out. Whether he’ll use the shelter in winter, and as it gets colder if there’s an eskie with the right dimensions to become an insulated shelter-bed. If he doesn’t I may be forced to let him in again 😔

    spoiler

Lying in bed completely physically exhausted, struggling to stay hydrated and seeing memories of Melbcat come up on my phone. Holding her urn.

The ringworm on my knee is unmistakably back. It’s trying to spread. I don’t know if I can beat this.

I really care about this cat, feel guilty, and haven’t lined anything up… but I’m truly not coping with the added responsibilities and feel slight relief that there might be a safe option for someone else to take him and ensure he’s cared for. If there’s a foster place open and they would accept him. I’ll ask if they can look.

I’m feeling it out and sitting with the idea that I may not be able to keep him.

I killed my ringworm with a Thrush pill. Didn’t have a reinfection source around though.

I’d be putting liquid antifungal in the cat food

and painting any ringworm I had with daktarin tincture , the tincture is super strong and works very well

in Melbourne we don’t get cold enough for an insulated shelter required for survival. I get for comfort, but we’re temperate enough he will be ok even in winter
