I’m in the final stages for a Project Manager role and honestly just trying to make sense of where I stand.
I went through multiple interviews (recruiter, hiring manager, SVP), then got brought in to meet the team. That part didn’t even feel like a real interview—more like a tour with some casual conversations. After that, they moved me forward with a background check, asked for references, and had me take a Wonderlic test.
Everything has cleared on my end (background, credit, etc.), but now I’m just waiting and overthinking everything.
Is it a good sign that the team meeting felt more like a tour? If they didn’t like me, would they even move forward with a background check and references? And how much do those Wonderlic tests actually matter this late?
Does this sound like I’m the preferred candidate, or just one of a few finalists?
Would appreciate any insight from people who’ve been through something similar.
