We first adopted Bryce around 10 years ago. Our previous cat had passed and we were devastated. We said we had to wait a while for another one but that only lasted about a week before we realized the house was empty without one. We heard of a charity that rescued cats from a Buddhist Monastery where people dumped animals. Because they couldn’t afford to take care of them many were sick and needed urgent care.
We met Bryce and immediately fell in love. He is one of the funnest, most loving cats we’ve ever had. He is always concerned that we get equal attention and love. However after a few months he spent a lot of time looking out the window and crying. We could tell he was lonely for a cat friend. Enter Jasper.
We heard about Jasper from another rescue. His owners had taken him to the vet to be put down because he has a lot of pee issues. He pees straight back and is prone to crystals. The vet refused and the rescue took him. He bounced around fosters for over a year until we took him. We’ve dealt with pee problems before and knew we could handle him.
We did the classic separation thing of placing them in separate rooms but that lasted only a few hours. They both cried at the door until we let them meet. They have been like this every since. Full on MMA battles, running, chasing, and cuddling. You couldn’t ask for two better friends. They love us like crazy and we love them the same. They are the epitome of Brothers from another Mother.
