My parents cat has recently had an accident. We don’t really know what happened (we can rule out any car hits or things like that after tests), she just showed up on our balcony and couldn’t use her back legs. We brought her immediately to the vet and at first they thought that she might have her spine broken because the doctor apparently saw something odd in her roentgen, we took her to get a tomograph and nothing was off so they ruled any bone problems out.

Now, she doesn’t seem to have much feeling in her back right leg so she can’t walk properly and she can’t find balance. She also cannot pee from what the vet told us. She has a catheter, which showed that she is letting out some amounts of pee, but she already ripped one out back at the vet. We took her back home because she wasn’t eating there at all apparently (she started to eat after coming home) and we tried to put some diapers and an outfit that you tie on the back on her to protect the catheter.

Problem with that was that she drags herself on the floor meaning she pulls every kind of clothing off. We’re going for a visit at the vet again tomorrow but I was wondering if any of you had a similar situation? And if any of you have an idea on how we could protect the catheter from getting ripped out just in case? We’re keeping her in her container for now just to be safe but my parents are thinking of putting her into a smaller room for the night where she always slept.
