Hello friends,

Im a relatively new cat owner, under a year and I have a very specific question.

My cat is very vocal and always comes to greet me when I come home. I live in a 2nd story apartment. The weird thing is is that I will be at the bottom of the stairs and my cat will start meowing at the door before Im anywhere near the door. My wife believes that my cat recongize my specific cars by the noise, both my personal car and my work van. She swears by this and even says she will know Im home because of the cats behavior. My job has a very varied schedule so I do not come home at the same time every day. My wife also says the cat will not react to our neighbors coming up the stairs or other cars parking.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it really possible my cats hearing is that attuned to 2 very specific automobiles?
