I have two lovely cats, very loving and cuddly, but seemingly not very playful!! I have a box of toys I try to entertain them with, but most of the time they just turn their nose up and try for a cuddle instead!
Their favourite ‘game’ is a bamboo stick peeking out of a towel on the floor. I lay a towel down, sometimes a few pillows too, and basically just slide the stick under the towel and poke it out of the sides. They LOVE this and go crazy every time, they’ll pounce and dive and try and dig under the towel (it’s so cute!) but they won’t do the same when I just have a stick. This makes me think it’s more of a hunting game for them, trying to catch the stick before it dissapears again.
They also love a feather wand I have, but only sometimes. When I’m at work (and just all the time because I don’t pack things away if I’ll be putting it back out the next day) I leave balls out, and also some hanging toys (like feathers and crinkle fish) that they could play with if they want to, but they just don’t seem bothered. When I’m away, they just don’t do anything at-all (I’ve used cameras before so that I could test it!). I’m worried about their independence and ability to entertain themselves.
Basically, does anyone have any advice for toys that are similar to this towel contraption that might be useful for when I’m at work to tire them out some more!?
