Got a 6 month old domestic longhair a month ago. I’ve ever owned a cat before. Invested in a smart litter box, automatic feeder, and water fountain for him. Lots of scratch posts and toys. I feel like I’m constantly cleaning up after him. We had to get a couch cover and I feel like every nice thing we own is in jeopardy of him destroying it. He’s already been groomed twice since he got dingleberries (foster parent never trimmed him) and yesterday since there was poo stuck in his paw. We are now switching to lower tracking wood litter. However this morning he threw up and we are thinking about changing out his food (rn it’s 2x wet food a day plus dry food via automatic feeder) he def prefers certain brands over another. However every morning I wake up and have to assess what did he knock over? Did he leave poop streaks on the pillows again? It’s over whelming. There’s always a new problem and constantly having to vacuum. I thought cats were suppose to be low maintenance!
