The other day, a friend of mine showed me a video of two cats following her. Like she was standing outside, inside of an iron fence (standard bar spacing, even a fat cat could struggle through), and then two young “stray” cats noticed her and immediately came to her. They slipped through the bars, and then followed every single step she made. It looked like they were even trying to follow her inside.
With that said, it seems like there’s a neighbor in the immediate area that does take care of them, but the cats are exclusively outside. My friend has been wanting cats for a while, and it seems like such a perfect opportunity BUT we have concerns about A) the morality of this particular situation, and B) logistics.
She is concerned that she would be ripping these two cats from an already established family of sorts. More so, the concern is for the feline kin, but I also worry about the human that is allegedly caring for them. Secondly, this is happening about 3 hours from where she lives. How in THE WORLD would anyone travel for 3 hours with cats they don’t know?
My first thought is Benadryl, but it makes me feel awful. Is there any like transportation friendly Feliway stuff that could be used? A big big box with holes and blankets?
What would you guys do?
