Background: I’ve owned cats basically my whole life. I have never experienced this. I have two boys who have been like this pretty much their whole life (they are litter mates, 4years old). No matter what I offer them to drink, the only want water from my (or my husband’s) cup OR running sink

I have tried everything. Multiple different types of fountains, gravity waterer, raised water bowls, one large wide bowl (this is what we have currently), refreshing their water every couple of hours, putting ice in their water (they seem to like the ice in ours), giving them a cup that looks exactly like mine (this has proved to be MOST effective but still they seem to find and prefer my cup if I leave it near theirs), I even tried filling it from our fridge instead of our sink, thinking maybe they can smell that mine is filtered and theirs isn’t. NOPE. They still went after my cup and not theirs.

Anyone experience this? I want my cats to want to drink THEIR water, and have mine be safe from them and their little paws lol
