So for context, one of my cats, Toast (Male, fixed, 5 years old) escaped my home last summer for nearly 2 weeks. he was found extremely sickly, and he almost passed (the vet believed he was either poisoned, or ate something naturally poisonous to him) his liver almost failed. it took 3+ months of medication to get him to eat normally again, and get his weight back to normal. since then, he has reached a whole new level of glutton, for ANY human food. he eats both wet and dry cat food, and doesn’t avoid it at all. Its got to the point he will attack the table when I am eating to steal food, try and chew through the garbage cans (even metal ones) and I have had to reinstall child locks on my cupboards, because he somehow opens them, and rips open absolutely any food in there. If I open the fridge, he will dive in and grab anything, even things like lemons, and try to take off with them to eat them. The vet has no answers, and im just wondering if anyone else has experienced things like this. Im beyond grateful he recovered, but this is way out of hand, and its getting worse. As I said, he eats his actual food all day, and never goes without. He acts like he is absolutely starving. He has also been checked for worms and other parasites, and everything in between. Any advice?
