Hi everyone. I need advice. My parents cat (who I frequently visit) Maria, is a long haired, short legged little girl. She’s a little skiddish and slow, but truly one of the sweetest angels on earth. Wants nothing more than to sit by you and be pet, and has now even started meowing at us to sit down on the couch so we can chill together. I love her.

Here’s the thing: she’s maybe one of the grossest cats of all time. She’s had some GI troubles but things seem to be fine now, but she DOES NOT clean herself after she poops in the litter box. So she tracks poop and litter all over the place and is just too smelly to cuddle with.

I try to wipe her back legs and bum with a warm towel, she hates it and it feels like I can’t even really get everything. I think once a month a groomer comes to the house to cut her nails and has started to shave her bum and tail and back legs.

But Jesus christ… she is so unbothered by her own smell. Anything else we can do??
