Was late to an in person interview last Thursday because they sent multiple separate invites. Is that normal?
I was late to an in person interview last Thursday because I misunderstood the schedule, and I am trying to figure out whether this is something I should have known or whether the way it was sent was confusing.
The company sent me multiple separate calendar invites for the interview instead of one clear invite for the full hour. One invite was for 11:00 am to 11:30 am with one person, and another was for 11:30 am to 12:00 pm with someone else. The subject lines were almost identical, and I initially only saw the second one, so I thought my interview started at 11:30 am rather than 11:00 am.
Since it was in person, that obviously made the mix up worse because I had planned my arrival around the second invite I saw. I do not have a ton of interviewing experience, so maybe this is more standard than I realized, but I had never seen it done that way before. There also was not an obvious note saying the interview was split into two back to back parts.
