My cat is around 3 years old and she’s done this almost daily most of her life. She likes to jump and hang from the curtains until the curtain falls or until she gets punished. There has rarely ever been a time where she’s done this & wasn’t sprayed. I’ve drenched her with the spray bottle for doing this in hopes she would learn. Sometimes she’ll do it over and over early in the morning and one time I was so frustrated I just screamed “STOP DOING THAT” at the top of my lungs and she was scared of me for the rest of the day but resumed her shenanigans the next day. This was less annoying when I lived in an apartment that only had one big window with a sturdy curtain rod so she never managed to actually pull the curtains down but I moved into an old trailer with lots of windows. Only 1/6 windows still have a curtain and she’s destined to tear that one down too. I wake up before my alarm to a room flooded with sunlight because she’s pulled the curtain completely down. All the curtain rods in this house are bent beyond repair. I’m using like 10 thumbtacks to keep the curtain up in my room but she still pulls it down and I wake up with tacks in my bed. I wish there was a solution better than spending a lot of money on expensive curtains and rods she can’t tear down when I wish she would just be a good cat. im so exhausted by her. As I’m typing this she just tried to do it… she’ll scale it up and meow and then jump. I spend so much time trying to keep her from jumping, and trying to get her down and then having to fix the curtain. It’s really starting to affect my sleep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
