This is Satyr, and he does this funny breathing thing sometimes. Less and less since he’s moved in with us two months ago. At first he would do this daily, with no real rhyme or reason. Sometimes it would happen while we were playing, sometimes he would wake up with an attack, and sometimes he would do it if he just seemed excited. The attacks are always under 30 seconds and he seems just fine and happy to play right after.
I took him to the vet and showed them video and explained what I was seeing at home. The vet told me he thinks it’s fly-biting/focal seizures, and he’ll likely grow out of it as he ages. I’ve tried to educate myself on them, and I’m not sure that’s what’s going on? This guy also told me that he didn’t have ringworm when I asked him to investigate the scabs on his ears/elbows/and forehead. He just looked at him with his naked eye and said he’s good? Then a week later I’m at urgent care covered in ringworm…
So. Just kind of wondering if there are any animal people out there that have seen this sort of thing? I’m honestly not too worried about it since it seems to be getting better and better the longer he’s home with us, but the ringworm thing has me second guessing the vet.
