I know a lot of people don’t like AI movies, but I really enjoy making them. When I was younger, I wanted to become a movie director, but now I’m just a regular worker. After work at night, I spend time creating short films. If you have time, I’d really appreciate any feedback on my videos…
Personally, if I get a whiff of AI in a video I’m not watching it. Have you considered getting into animation or something? You’d probably find it more rewarding, and people would have the opportunity to see something you actually made rather than requested from a bot.
Even really simple, rough animation would show more of you than something like this, and would actually help you develop a meaningful and valuable skill.
making videos
The AI is making videos by using every other movie out there. You’re out of the loop.
Also why are the Teletubbies attacking Napoleon?
I watched the video you linked. Can you describe what you are trying to do with your films? Like, what do you expect for viewers to experience from watching them?
For me, the video was like watching a child play with some toys. The characters were like stiff action figures with no personality, I didn’t care at all about them or even recognise them as living characters with emotions. The story was basically non-existant. And there was no appealing aesthetic to anything, the AI visuals are just incredibly bland and generic, like stock photos.
If you want people to engage with your work, you have to ask yourself why would someone engage with it? What are they supposed to get out of it?
why are you worried about traction. if you enjoy something then you are good.
I think you’re going to run into this being the wrong community for this.
It tends to be more about traditional movies, usually feature length. Since lemmy in general is anti ai, there’s another layer of difficulty in finding viewership in this community. I don’t recall the names of them (since it isn’t a personal interest), but there are ai friendly C/s around that would likely be a better place to find support and feedback.
I’m not a mod here, so this isn’t a certain declaration, just trying to guide you to a better situation
I have a cousin in film class. I do the audio for his films. He works tirelessly to get the perfect shots and puts a lot intk every aspect of filming. A lot of creativity, sweat, and blood goes into it. This spits in the face of all of that.
