we recently got a kitten who is approximately like 6 weeks old (found her in a box near work) after feeding formula for a couple days, she’s now eating wet food by herself. My resident cat who is about 5 months old was hissing and growling in the beginning stages but after we did smooth introduction and transition they can tolerate each other and stay in the same room without hissing or growling. my resident cat often sniffs the new kitten tries to groom her but they often end up fighting or playing which I try to resolve when I feel it gets too intense. The little kitten is not scared at all and jumps at my resident cat lol. however, this is how they play or fight the entire time. I’m not sure if I should let them play like this or just separate them. I don’t really feel like the new kitten feels threatened at all so I assume they’re playing but then it gets rough sometimes. I don’t know how to deal with this situation.
