I want to hear yall opinion on this, because I’m not 100% sure.
Long story short:
- apply in October
- immediate response and interview with recruiter
- went really well. Only concern was my 1 month period as they wanted someone to start asap
- second interview with the manager mid December. Went great and she told me to skip the next step which was a written assessment (the kind where you do their job for them)
- get email asking to confirm the date, which I respond to immediately. This was December 21st
- interview scheduled for December 29th. No calendar invite
- on the day of interview I ask recruiter if it’s still going ahead. She said she didn’t see my email and now i have to do the written assessment.
- I submit in December 31st
- no response via email. I chase 3 days later. Nothing
- week later I find the recruiter on LinkedIn. I ask for feedback
- she gets back to me a week later saying „she messaged me but I’ve probably missed it (not true). They’ve put my application on hold while they evaluate other candidates, but luckily I am back in the process now”
- She schedules an interview with Chief Growth Officer for end of jan. Then cancels on the same day. Schedules again, cancels two days before. Schedules again, cancels. This happened 2x more times. Mind you, I had to move my hours in a full time and part time jobs to make those…
- I prepare 100% to that interview expecting high level strategic questions. He comes in 15min late and asks me the about 4 questions which I’ve already answered during the 2 other interviews and says he has to go.
- I wait for 2 weeks, then they tell me they are looking for someone with experience which they did not include in the job description, not once mentioned in the job interview and decided to go with another candidate (funnily enough I do have that experience, it just wasn’t related to the job and nobody ever asked)
Now a month later they repost the ad and I am considering reaching out to the recruiter. Now before you tell me Im brained damaged here’s the thing:
I’m stuck in a dead end job basic job with poor pay, they’ve been dangling a promotion for 2 years I’m way overqualified and underpaid. I need to work 2 jobs - about 80-90 hours a week as I’m saving up for a house. This job pays over double what I’m getting right now. Another issue is, if I stay where I am right now for another year, I will have a 3month notice period which will make „the impossible” even harder.
I know this place sounds disfunitional, and I’m kinda desperate, but not sure if I’m THAT desperate. Also there’s no other jobs in my field since I live in shithole, Poland and could only do remote/hybrid work
