It is. But what I find works most reliably is clicking on the space bar until the cursor appears, then while holding the spacebar with another finger moving it across the keyboard. That will bring up the selection and then you can take the finger of the spacebar and just select what you want

Not just you. Keyboard is not that good and selection, copy/paste is hassle

Have to agree with you, previously when I was jailbroken there was a tweak just for this, and it was really good.

It’s even worse in iOS 17. Not only is there some strange lag whenever tapping a spot for the context menu, but it’s even more inconsistent, even with Apple’s OWN apps.

iOS 17 wins in stability in some areas when compared to iOS 16 but seems to have poor UX decisions on other areas.

yeah recently switched from android and I have to say its not even comparable. it seems I can almost never get it first try on iOS.

The text input in general needs to be fixed in iOS, including selecting text copy and paste and correcting auto language.

Double/ triple finger taps to undo are something that I never used & always forgotten about.

whats the exact problem? any example?
