Has anyone here had their Microsoft application status change to inactive / not selected, but then still got contacted months later by a recruiter?

My recruiter has totally disappeared and his mail address is not working anymore. I think it a straightforward rejection. But do people do sometimes get moved to another team / req after that maybe months later?

Would love to hear real experiences.
