This is my baby girl Cantrip, I rescued her as a kitten after resuscitating her when she nearly froze to death. She’s been my best friend since.

She’s 2 and a half years old now, but she’s still pretty small and I don’t think she’s ever going to grow to be a normal-sized cat.

She’s always had a squeaky half-meow, sounding kind of like “me-ha!” That I always adored, but recently she started meowing like a normal cat. Her purr is also significantly louder than before, where it used to be barely audible and we could only ever feel it when petting her.

The only change is that we recently brought in another rescue and he was sick and got some of the other cats sick, but Cantrip never did (trust me, we have been watching everyone closely and taking everyone to the vet). Im just not entirely sure that affected the change in meow because it’s been 2 months and her voice just barely changed. Is that still within a timeframe that it would affect her?

I would take her to the vet, but I’m running low on cash for vet visits after all my other cats were sick and it’s difficult to get an appointment where I am, but if it comes down to it, I’ll take her.

She acts completely normal otherwise.
