TLDR: had 2 job offers at the same time, one better but less concrete and one worse but very concrete. Went with the better offer and they backed out so now I have no offers :)

Been looking for an entry level tech job for 2 years (post-grad). I unfortunately got 2 offers at the same time.

Job 1 was a shittier offer, and had a very short “accept/decline“ window, around 2 days.

Job 2 was a better offer (around 10K more + benefits + path to grow) but nothing set in paper. I had actually done my interviews for this job many months beforehand.

The recruiter had called me up to tell me that things were looking good for my position and told me a date that I would most likely start. She gave a specific date. This call came within the 2 day window in which I had to respond to the shittier job.

I declined the shittier offer and waited for the recruiter from job 2 to send the official offer.

2 weeks later, the same recruiter sends me an email recommending I try to find another job….

I am livid with myself for losing out on the other opportunity.
