(it happened few hours ago so i am still emotional. I am sorry if this post is stupid and i am stupid)

A month and half ago bf and I got a cat from a shelter. Although she was very shy at the shelter she adopted to the her new home quite quickly, loves being petted, treats etc but this post is not about that.

After getting her to associate get transport box with treats and petting we very happy to get her into the box quickly for a well reviewed vet next to us. That’s just convenient!

In the registration form we wrote that it is her first visit, how long we have her etc. When we got into the examination room. The vet ordered us to take the cat out (from other stuff she said it seemed like she read our notes…), did not ask anything about her. If the vet says that, sure. Just as the box door opened the cat ran out and ran around scared as we knew she would… the vet starts going on about how we shouldn’t have opened it if she is so scared, now the cat is angry blah blah. Like wtf, you told us to do it?! we didn’t think we can object… then vet sternly told us to get her back into the box. Boyfriend finally got her… More of the same from the vet. Said what signs from the cat she saw when she was still in the box and how she could have examined her inside but the cat is not angry so there is no point. Then why ask to open it?.. Then told us to give the cat some strong pill (not usual herb based) few hours before the visit but didn’t ask for cat’s weird (doesnt dosage depend on weight?). End of the visit…

We are both quite angry/confused about this experience. It is the first vet visit for both of us. Is this usual??

EDIT: the cat is handling it better than us :') she is chilling at home, didn’t even hide for longer than 15 mins, checked her have spots if the scary vet isn’t hiding there and is now sleeping in a sunny spot <3
