I have two cats, both of which have always loved using the cat trees I’ve had in the past and they destroy them very quickly. A few months ago I found this tree on marketplace, it’s a very large, sturdy and heavy tree. The type you get for Maine coons. The woman said her cat never used it in the short time she had it. There was next to no hair on it and none of the scratchers had been touched.

When I got it home I removed all the beds for a machine wash and gave the entire thing a clean down with enzyme cleaner to ensure there was no other cat smells on it. Despite doing this multiple times my cats both still refuse to use it. Not even the scratchers. I’ve tried it in multiple spots, tried catnip and catnip spray, tried only feeding them treats if they’re on the tree, I even moved Mocha’s favourite blanket to it to try encourage her to use it. I’ve also had second hand cat trees in the past as they destroy them so quickly, I’ve never had this issue before. Usually the clean once I get it home is good enough for them. Is this cat tree haunted? Are they getting bad vibes from it. It’s the nicest one I’ve gotten so far so it’s annoying me they won’t use it.🤣

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can get my cats to use the tree?
