Hi everyone this is my cat Lobo. Earlier this week I posted that we had his brother Taco put to sleep due to cancer. Now Lobo is by himself for the first time in his life and we’re wondering how to go about it.

He saw and sniffed the body so he knew Taco was dead, but we’re trying to work out how best to help him. Lobo has always been a relatively clingy cat, sleeps with us every night etc super friendly to everyone. Since Taco died he’s become even more clingy (not complaining) and I’m guessing this is because he feels lonely? He’s also not going far when he goes out and is preferring to stay close to the house. Eating habits seem to be normal.

How have you helped your cat with loneliness after going through a death?

If you chose to get more cats, how long did you wait to do that?

We will probably get him some more friends at some point but this is all new to us and we’re still grieving, so just looking for any suggestions. Thanks :)
