1-2 weeks ago, I started applying to other jobs to work for a 2nd position, because my hours at Domino’s have been cut down as of the last 2 weeks. I haven’t been fired and I haven’t volunteered to quit as of yet. Applied to about 20+ applications, 5 denied, had 2 interviews, the rest were just postings for ghost jobs. I did go to a temp agency, but was a complete waste of time, as they couldn’t help in getting another job at this time. After the first interview last week for a seasonal Pool attendant position, I never heard back from the manager’s supervisor.
After the 2nd interview this past Friday for a position at this amusement center called Lost Planet - Planet Adventure, one of the 2 managers who interviewed me called me just 30 minutes ago (as of writing), they used the same old “we have chosen to pursue other candidates instead” excuse because they said I wasn’t “out-going” enough compared to them. Because of this, I am completely down. I actually did wanted to work there as it was similar to the place I worked at for my first job, Apex Entertainment. Not to mention it was only just a 5 minute drive from where I live.
I’m now starting to wonder if I should even still continue looking for another job because I don’t know if I can even do it all over again, since it took me 15 months and hundreds of applications on Indeed and other sites just to freaking land my current job at Domino’s (have worked there for almost 2 months now btw).
Has anyone else been affected personally from a rejection like mine I just had, and also feel like the unlucky candidate that doesn’t get hired for most other jobs at all, Not even entry-level ones? Despite having no criminal background and having prior experience in other jobs? Because that’s how I feel.
