Like I said, my 16 year old cat (she was 10 when I adopted her) is getting a dental extraction in two days. I’ve been crying about it daily since the vet told me but as the procedure gets closer, I’m really starting to panic that she isn’t going to wake up from anesthesia. I have PTSD from working in the COVID ICU fresh out of nursing school. She wakes me up when I’m having nightmares and always stays with me until I can fall back asleep. I’m terrified of losing her. She is my whole heart. She’s in pretty good shape, very active, labs are clean, kidneys are good but I can’t help be worry. Does anyone have experience with this or positive stories of their cats getting surgery at an older age? I could really use some hope because I’ve convinced myself these are my last few days with her
