We’re on day 3 of introducing a new kitten to our 2 year old cat. Of course I’m aware it takes much longer than that, I just wanna hear y’all’s experiences & also see if there’s any other helpful tips out there.

The first day we kept our kitten in the bathroom, but he cried a lot & would constantly escape every chance he got. So on day 2 we moved him into the bedroom so he had more space & he seemed a lot more happy having the room to run around & play. We’ve been doing scent swapping and feeding the on opposite side of the door. At feeding especially when I crack the door to give kitten his food our older cat will look in (usually w a hiss if he approaches her) & then we shut the door. We have had 2 occasions where she didn’t hiss.

I imagine he’ll probably have to stay in the room another week or so. For now I’m trying to still show my older cat she’s loved & I’ve been sleeping with her on the couch while my husband stays in the bedroom with the kitten.
