I know this is a bit of a random question lol
When I leave the house work for I like to leave my cats upstairs in my bedroom. I have a pretty big room and am able to have all of their amenities reasonably spaced out with extra space for them to separate if they’re annoyed with each other. On my days off or my boyfriend’s they get full run of the house but they tend to be upstairs 3/7 days a week. They seem pretty content with this, but I feel slightly bad that they don’t have freedom to explore the rest of our house as much. I tend to have pretty bad anxiety when I’m away from them and irrational thoughts about them being able to find ways out of the house or to hurt themselves in the house. They’re 2 and 3 with tons of energy still, and just generally tear everything off of counters and walls like little tornados. My boyfriend reassures me that it’s common practice to limit your cats to one space when you’re not home but I wanted some more opinions. How do your cats do when they’re home alone? Any advice for catproofing?
