I’ve got 4 cats. Luna, Leo, Bonnie and Clyde

When Luna turned 1, my parents took her to a stud to be bred. They didn’t think she did anything so they bought Leo.

Turns out Luna was pregnant and had 3 kittens (the third was given away to a relative). Luna has known Leo since he was 7 weeks (breeder f-ed up), Bonnie and Clyde since she gave birth to them.

They have been together for 7 years. Luna always seemed like she hated the other cats. She would bully them if they got too close to her. she never approached them and when they approached her it was for affection like licks. Probably habits since she was their mother. So she was never bullied and she wasn’t the bully but it always seemed like she hated being around all of them.

She would always sleep in dark corners away from the others. Didn’t like being around them. She would swat them when they crossed her path at meal time. She never played with them. Overall it felt like she would do better as a solo cat. When she was upstairs on her own, she seemed like such an out going cat compared to when she’d ‘hide’ to avoid the others.

Recently we’ve moved houses. Luna moved into grandmas house with my sister, the other 3 moved into me and my parents house.

Luna got moved first. So for a few weeks the 3 stayed at the original house without her. After a day, they didn’t notice her missing. It’s obvious they that attached to her

Now the trio have been moved. They are acting like they never moved houses. Of course there were small signs of stress but they’re very confident and happy. Luna on the other hand, she’s okay but it feels like she’s missing her family. It has been 5 weeks without them

She comes out, walks around. Cuddles and purrs. Watches the birds out the window. She’s using her litter box and is eating fine but when she’s uncertain, she hides. It’s very hard for me to tell if she misses her colony or if she’s just getting used to the new place. After all, we didn’t think they were that bonded

We gave her some fluff from the other 3 to see how she would react to it. She pawed at it once and went to sleep with it right in front of her. I think she still recognises their smell.
