So… my sister has a cat they rescued as a kitten like… close to 10 years ago? He’s always been a very scared/shy cat. When I’d come to their house, he usually was nowhere to be seen.

Every so often when they’d go out of town, I’d take care of him. I found him a few times and played with a little feather toy with him which he loved to play with.

My sister moved closer to us after she had kids and sometimes I’d go babysit for her. The cat finally started to come out and be friendly. I’d pet him and love on him and play with him and we were buds.

I also started coming over in the evenings to hang and watch tv with them and I’d bring my dog. The cat loves dogs and tried to play with my dog but my dog was more or less uninterested.

About a year ago??? This cat has decided to start biting me. Like, I’ll just be petting him, and he’ll then around and try to bite at my hand and raise his paws like he’s about to throw down. So honestly? I stopped trying to pet him. Last time I was babysitting he was on the couch next to me, I grabbed my yeti cup to take a drink, and he went after my hand? The last time I was cleaning out his litter and feeding him, I bent down and reached out my hand. I did NOT move, he came up to me, rubbed his head under my hand, then turned around and bit/raised his paws again.

I don’t know why over the years he’s become aggressive with me? He also did it to my mom one time too when she was there as well. We thought maybe he didn’t like my dog and the smell of her was on me, but my baby died in November and he’s still being a jerk 😂

Anyway- any thoughts from the cat people? I’m not a cat person. Half of the cats I’ve known in my life have been aggressive and this just solidifies why I don’t like them lol.
