So I applied at a small marketing firm late last year.

I’m entirely over-qualified for the position, not being arrogant, but it’s true.

It escalated to an interview, and I didn’t try to convey the above in the call, I tried to come across as confident and humble. It went well, so I thought. Another email exchange and they just ghosted me. I later learned they went the opposite direction and hired someone with an entirely discipline set and created a special position for them on that. I was a little sad/annoyed/ but it’s whatever at that point.

I’m mostly grateful I got a call, it’s super dry out there and I’ve been throwing sheets into the wind essentially, with the rare follow up email.

Well now, they’re hiring for a similar position. I checked their site, the new person is gone entirely. I wayback machined their team page, and recall over the past few years they’ve had basically a revolving door every 6-9m with this.

Is it worth it applying again? Or do you write-off a company if it didn’t work out. There’s also a large local institution I’ve been essentially spamming apps at in a similar cycle, but never hear back. I have an income source at the moment and it pays higher than this small firm. Yeah the small firm is paying pretty bad. But it’s work.
