I am at my wits end with my kitties about their food preferences. I’ve always tried to feed them high quality dry foods, like Instinct or Dr Elsie and various similar grain free wet foods like Smalls since they were kittens. I offered them a range of foods hoping they’d be less picky. But my partner started them on Temptations treats and now that’s all they want. They leave the pricey high quality stuff alone and will just turn on all their charm to beg for treats. Don’t know about others, but when my slender little tabby sits at my feet staring unblinkingly at me, it is hard to resist her. They will also go on a meowing rampage in the middle of the night. They are healthy 7 year old sisters with regular vet visits. My partner and I argue about it but can’t find a solution. He’d let them live on the treats but I want to do what is best for them. People who aren’t owned by cats would probably find my distress silly but it’s real.

Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me?
