Birdie (black) and Pancake (white) are both almost a year old, and are a month a part. Birdie was in our home first for a month or so until we got Pancake. They get along well enough, cuddle/clean each other occasionally, and play. They sometimes have the occasional fight, not anything bad, but you can just tell they’re not playing. Along with this, I’ve noticed when Birdie is comfortable in a spot, pancake will sit directly on top of her. Jokes aside with the title & song, I do separate them when I see this, and give Birdie her spot back, but I wanted to get a video because I’m interested in why this happens. I’d assume it’s dominance, but would like to learn more, and also wondering if this is something to be more concerned about when leaving them alone together?
I will add, Pancake is super derpy and sometimes doesn’t act like a cat, so I’m wondering if maybe she doesn’t mean any harm by it and is trying to signal she wants to be groomed? Just a thought lol.
