Genuine question. I’ve been thinking about this a lot.

When a listing stays live for months with no update, what’s actually happening? Is the role genuinely still open? Did HR forget to close it? Or is it being kept live on purpose to collect a pipeline?

I’ve seen the same posting up for 2+ months (it keeps getting reposted). Applied (just to see if I could get an interview) but heard nothing. I checked back 1 month later, it was reposted again! (same description btw).

What’s the most egregiously long you’ve seen a listing stay up? And did you ever find out why?
