Posting to share how crazy this was, but also to hopefully help others. Or maybe I blew my chance to work for an eccentric millionaire.

Tl;dr I was texted about a job I didn’t apply for that. Wanted to pay me a ton of money but had to do everything via text with a lady named Phoebe.

I’ve been looking for a job and received this text a couple weeks ago from Phoebe Lee saying she is cofounder of a new Fintech. I look up the company and find their website, which has generic pictures and texts, and whose biggest focus seems to be opening a new office in LA. Now I love a potential scam so I engaged texting with Phoebe. She tells me this is a new disruptive startup. It is totally top-secret. She then begins texting me paragraphs of detail details of the companies business model and philosophy. She tells me exorbitant compensation details including a $10,000 stipend for travel at my discretion. When she references a board of directors, I ask for more details or a link to the website and she tells me the company is so secret that they cannot share that information. Then asked to switch to WhatsApp for continued communication. She continues to text off hours on random chitchat things i.e. what’s for dinner do you drink wine, etc. She is unable to do anything on a call or via email, but schedules a video chat interview. The video chat shows an Asian woman who appears to be AI with another Asian woman (thick accent) voice over and asking me questions. The questions are detailed, but generic and for a couple I only answer one word. She tells me the interview went great, but she has to run after 4 minutes. A couple days later, she tells me the Board of Directors voted 6 to 2 and I have the job. She sends me the contract. That is when I called her out on the scam and tried to have a normal conversation, but she stopped engaging.

I am sharing this for other others 1) so hopefully nobody gets scammed or loses money on this 2) then I am not crazy and that this really happened.

Let me know if you want more details.
