My 7y/o cat is driving me crazy - here is why:

He’s obsessive about food. We have an auto feeder and he will sit and stare at it for an hour before it goes off. (3x/day). Right after eating he goes on the kitchen counter and scans for anything: cooking oil bottles to lick, utensils to lick, and my food to eat, etc

He eats all plastic bags and styrofoam.

He bites me while I brush him.

He’s bitten me out of the blue occasionally over the last six months. He bit a lot as a kitten and I worked hard to train him out of it.
We have moved in the last six months and his companion cat went to another house due to his special needs and this cat picking on him/eating all his food.
He is super smart. EG: knows when I pick up the laser and is whipping his head around and scanning the second he hears out. Tracks where snacks are housed and attempts to break in.
I grew up in a vet clinic (parents were both vets) and have seen countless cats. The food obsession is unlike anything I’ve seen and really impacts my life negatively. My mantra is “life is too short for a shitty cat”.
Help me fix him. I don’t want to give up but am at the end of my rope!😬😬😬
