You would never know it if you met her but this cat is 15 years old. She absolutely hates water BUT after one of us showers she will jump in the tub and rub her face and body on the faucet so she likes having wet fur at least? Idk this is the first cat I’ve lived with since i was a very little kid.

Anyway, he is VERY allergic to cats despite having cats his entire life. We are both afraid that it would stress us and the cat out and potentially be injured from giving her a bath. His sister (who lives far away and is a pet groomer for a living) suggested we give her a bath to help with the allergies but the only solution i can think of is getting a sedative or relaxant from the vet, which i want to avoid since she is so old.

Some advice/help would be useful. To be clear we are NOT asking for medical advice, however, if getting something from the vet is the best course of action for the cat and us then it is what it is and we are happy to do whatever is best for her. Thanks in advance.
