My indoor 8 yr old domestic short hair seems to be missing a patch of fur on his front leg, kinda on the inside near the joint. He’s licking it a bit (mainly at night). Behaviour is otherwise normal. Took him to the vet who did that tape test and looked under the microscope and couldn’t see any bacteria, white blood cells etc and no ringworm. The vet prescribed a cream with hydrocortisone and licodaine in it and said it should clear up in a few weeks ( but didn’t know what the problem was)

Anyone experienced anything similar?

Does anyone know what this could be?
