Hi everyone. My cat Emit (Peenu) is turning 14 in May, and I’ve had him since I was 13. I recently found out his creatinine levels were higher than they’re supposed to be 2.4, I believe. Everything else looked good, including his thyroid and other blood tests, but they had me test his urine, and they told me it looks like the start of chronic kidney disease.

I am so upset and honestly losing my mind trying to come to terms with this. I love him so much he’s my baby and I can’t picture my life without him. I’m so scared for this new journey I’m about to be on with him. I just feel so shattered.

If anyone has any advice on what I can do to help him so it doesn’t get worse, or if anyone has experience or tips with their cats and CKD, please let me know. I’m sorry if any of this doesn’t make sense I’m a mess right now. I wish I could’ve some how prevented this I feel so many emotions right now. The vet didn’t give me much information… I am supposed to start him on kidney food diet from them this week. I’m just so sad.
