Hi! I found a lovely 1 year old female cat that their previous owner is rehoming due to her ‘clashing’ with her other female cat. The thing is, she isn’t spayed which in my opinion is the core of the behavioural problem (previous owner says it’s due to them moving house last October and that she has been anxious ever since but I personally think that would just line up with then she’d first go into heat, any experienced cat owner knows how many behavioural challenges this can cause. Previous owners didn’t spay her because they ‘didn’t want to stress her out’ which was more damaging in the end). My question is - would it be too stressful for her to get spayed same week as being rehomed? I feel bad for the poor baby having to go through so much in a single week but I’m afraid getting her spayed is my top priority. I do have another cat (male, spayed) so the change of the environment, being intruduced to a new cat on top of being post surgery is something that I’m not sure how to juggle. Also if you have a story of getting an adult cat spayed and their behaviour changing i’d love to hear it!
