Posted on ask a vet but no response. Coming here for some insight.

I have an 8 week old kitten. When I got him he had already been dewormed and first round shots. I have the paperwork for the shots, but not the deworming. It’s from a reputable vet and I l’ve been told the shots and deworming were at the same time. I didn’t notice deworming information was missing until later.

I’ve only had him for 4 days so mine depth of knowledge on his habits and behaviours is thin. But I’m wondering if I should be concerned?

Timelines: we got him Thursday night.

Friday he was playing, eating, peeing, pooing, napping. Normal. Normal volume, each activity was done several times

Saturday he took a poo around 11 and didn’t pee until about 4 pm. He would go to the littler box and shuffle around - but not do anything.

Sunday morning; no poop, but peeing. Around noon it’s making me nervous he hasn’t pooped - so I take him to a clinic (my vet is closed) and the vet pretty much says he’s ok - but he wants 1300 dollars of testing. Both my partner and I got bad vibes, he didn’t handle the kitten nicely, the clinic was dirty. We declined and left.

At home later kitten was at litter box and scratching/shuffling and now crying. I took him to a vet ER. They also said he was fine, normal vitals, good everything. But they didn’t do any blood work or imaging - that they didn’t see it necessary. I trust this ER, I think, they were recommended by my vet - who I do trust. They gave him an enema and sent him home to poop. He pooped a small amount Monday morning. A larger poop Monday night, and nothing since (Tuesday noon) but he is peeing.

Anyone experienced something similar with theirs? Is once every 24 hours normal?

Thanks!
