Kino was hit by a car one week ago. Found him stuck and surrendered. Vet diagnosed a fractured hip. Surgery was successful and he is back at home after 5 days! Currently resting as much as possible, be it in my bed or in his new cage :)

Reddit was the place I turned to help me figure out what had happened. I was lost and drowned in the feeling of guilt. In the midst of all the confusion, people embraced me in order to save Kino.

Thank you to the ones at the r/gatosportugal subreddit who told me in that first hour, after finding him, what I had to do. Thank you to the ones at r/cats who shared their similar stories and thank you to those who forced their way to send help, with such acts of generosity I had not seen yet. I’m glad I gave in to your requests as they gave me even more strength. It’s 93 of you, including people who maybe need the money more than myself.

I couldn’t have done this without you 🫂

If you want to see pictures and videos of his progress, check my profile here on Reddit. I’m doing my best to keep you updated on Kino ☺️

Here’s a subtitled video of the surgeon explaining the procedure

Oh… his 1st anniversary is in 3 days, on the 24th of April!
