My 1 year old son was visiting a feral cat that my friend had recently homed. He is very friendly and walked right into their home when they accidentally left the front door open. My son was playing with the cat and got in his face which caused him to swat at my son and he scratched up his face. We live in the US and I’ve contacted our pediatrician which they said to just monitor the scratch for signs of infection. I am worried about rabies, but how likely is this actually? The cat is acting like a normal domesticated house cat however has only been with them for a few days and is not up on his vaccinations yet. My health anxiety is really ramped up because of this
