Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a big update on how the night/s went with Prince~~ss~~ Donut. \[TW:GROSS\]

He ended up vomiting up the food we had given hIM after a ravenous feast, which we expected so we ended up waiting a few hours and trying again with a simple slurry. He’s managed to keep all his food and water down since then.

He doesn’t know the litter box (expectedly) but is at least kind enough to hit the pads we set down, though no poopies in sight.

On that topic, hIS vet reported he was very constipated and would have to be put under for a little to try and un-impact his bowels and help him get some of that poop out. Apparently if we hadn’t have brought him in he likely would have died from the impacted bowel, so very thankful we got him in time.

He’s also tested positive for FIV, which personally terrified me as I have no experience with it but my wife assures me all will be okay.

He’s gonna be home this afternoon to start his (hopefully calm) bonding process with his new brothers.

Sorry for the rant, a very frantic last sixteen hours or so. Thanks for all the love in the last post, I’m passing it all onto her. We think he’s around seven years old, btw.

Second Update -

Okay so I didn’t realize the restriction on posting when I first wrote this out and have since learned that Donut is a handsome beautiful Prince and not a Princess as we initially thought. I’ve edited most of the initial post to better fit his royal masculinity.

Also, more time has passed. In addition so, so much poopy.

We brought him and his collection of medication home and he’d messed his carrier a bit, but nothing too crazy. We made sure to pad the room he was staying in and gave him all the basic commodities and let me tell you, this man released **nuclear waste** within the hour.

But, it kept on coming and he’d managed to press a disc onto his buttocks of litter and this strange tar poop so unless he had a bath it’d just keep collecting.

Queue the nightmare soup. Let me tell you this man let all his stress go into this shower. We kept the shower head on a warm rinse and just tried to stimulate the area so this poor guy could empty out a bit and he released the torrents.

He made it through the night after that with some warm towels and more pads and minor accidents.

The next morning, He’s a brand new cat. He has so much life in his eyes and he is just FULL of energy. He can’t really jump or do too much and of course had to have another bath.

Solid poop! Hurray!

I take it as a win. I’ve got a healthy old man. :) he’s incredibly, incredibly affectionate. I’ve included a picture of him coming home from the vet and will definitely post when he gets a bit better. Seven pounds right now!

Thanks for listening to my ranting.
