My cat (medium, 10 lbs) has abrasions around his neck and the vet has recommended a cone to keep him from scratching and disrupting the healing process. No diagnosis on the underlying cause yet, right now it’s purely wound management while we monitor.

My concern with a standard plastic cone is that it could press directly against the abrasions and cause more irritation. I’m looking for something:

- Soft and lightweight (nothing rigid against the neck)

- Washable/reusable, ideally buying two to rotate

- Actually stays on, he’s pretty determined

Has anyone dealt with neck-specific wounds and found a cone that didn’t make things worse? Would love to hear what worked (and what didn’t) before I start ordering things at random. Thanks in advance.
