Hi everyone, I’d love some advice about my cat.
Her name is Viola. I adopted her from the Humane Society because I saw that she was being bullied by smaller kittens there, and I felt really bad for her. She’s incredibly sweet—honestly too sweet. She never hisses or shows any aggression at all.
The only “downside,” if I can even call it that, is that she doesn’t really like being held, but that’s totally fine with me.
Lately I’ve been really busy, and sometimes when she brings me toys to play, I can only spend a little time with her. I’ve started to feel like she might be lonely.
I’m wondering if I should get her a companion. However, the Humane Society staff mentioned that she may not do well with other cats, so I’m really unsure.
Do you think she would actually prefer being alone? Or is there a chance she might do okay with a much younger kitten? I was thinking maybe she wouldn’t feel as threatened by a tiny kitten—but I’m also worried about her getting bullied again since she’s so gentle.
Has anyone had experience with a very “nice” cat like this?
Thanks so much!
