I live in a loft with high ceiling and I’ve had my cat for about 6 months now. He just turned 1 and has finally figured out how to scale the kitchen to get above the cabinets.
Honestly, it’s fine if he wants to go up there, I’ve shown him how to get down with treats and he’s able to do it safely.
The problem is…that I have exposed venting and he’s able to leap from the end of the cabinet onto the vent which is not well supported from the ceiling. The whole thing shakes and I am scared for both my cats safety, but also the integrity of the apartment I am renting.
I’ve tried my best to stack things and try to deter him from going onto the vent but it’s not working. I’ve current barricaded his way up but he’s clearly sad he can’t spend time up there.
