Just received news that my offer has been rescinded due to an average /negative reference check, after signing the contract 1.5 months ago and applying for a new working visa during this period. I am genuinely surprised by the negative comments from my previous coworker, and didn’t think they would pull the offer as my ex-boss gave me really good review. I am feeling really burnt out, since I have been unemployed for over 8 months and I really thought this was my break. Sorry for the rant.
